How payment works at Back in Motion

We do not accept health insurance. We are self-pay for wellness and general care, and we accept auto insurance (PIP) for accident injuries and VA Community Care referrals for veterans.

What your first visit includes

  • Consultation: what hurts, when it started, and what you have tried.
  • Exam: orthopedic, neurologic and chiropractic tests on your joints, muscles, nerves and discs.
  • Digital X-rays, if needed: taken on site, reviewed the same visit.
  • Report of findings: what is wrong, in plain words, with a plan and a price.

TODO PETE Confirm with client: whether X-rays are included in the first-visit price or extra; whether treatment is given on day one.

Family rate

Our self-pay wellness rates are designed for families. When more than one person in your household is under care, ask about the family rate.

TODO PETE Get the actual family-rate terms from the client so we can explain them here instead of “ask the front desk”.

HSA and FSA

HSA and FSA cards are accepted for chiropractic care.

TODO PETE Confirm HSA/FSA acceptance with client before publishing.

Can you go see a chiropractor without insurance?

Yes. You do not need health insurance or a referral to see a chiropractor in Florida. Back in Motion is self-pay for wellness and general care, with a clear price given before treatment starts.

Why do most chiropractors not take insurance?

Health insurance often limits how many chiropractic visits you get, requires pre-authorizations, and can leave you with surprise bills when a claim is denied. Being self-pay lets us set your care by what your exam shows, not by an insurer's visit cap, and lets you know the price up front.

  • No insurer visit limits. Your plan is based on your exam and progress.
  • No surprise bills. One price, known before you start.
  • Less paperwork. More of the visit goes to care.

How much do chiropractors charge if you don't have insurance?

It depends on the clinic and what is included. A first visit with an exam and X-rays costs more than a follow-up adjustment. At Back in Motion you get the price of your first visit when you book, and the cost of your plan before any treatment begins.

TODO PETE Ask the client to publish real prices: at minimum the first-visit price, or a “from $X” follow-up price. This is the question Google is asking; a number makes the page far stronger.

Will insurance pay for a chiropractor?

Some insurance does, depending on your plan. At Back in Motion we do not bill health insurance, but two kinds of coverage do pay for care here: auto insurance (Florida PIP) after a car accident, and VA Community Care for eligible veterans.

Who else may pay for your care

  • Car accident: your own PIP coverage pays first, regardless of fault, if you start care within 14 days. We file it for you. See Florida PIP explained.
  • Veterans: eligible veterans can receive 8 to 12 fully covered treatments through VA Community Care. See veterans VA care.

Is monthly chiropractic care worth it?

For some people, yes. Many of our long-term patients came in with an injury, got better, and chose maintenance visits one to four times a month based on their lifestyle and goals. It is a choice, not a requirement; we will not lock you into a plan you do not need.

How many visits are normal for a chiropractor?

It depends on the problem. A mild, recent strain may need a handful of visits; a disc injury or an accident case usually needs more, over several weeks. Dr. Colby gives you a visit plan after your exam and re-checks you along the way.

Compared to a chain

How we differ from a membership chain

Membership chiropractic chains are built around quick adjustments for a monthly fee. That works for some people. Here is what is different at Back in Motion:

  • One doctor. Dr. Colby sees you every visit, so the person treating you knows your case.
  • Exam and X-rays on site. We find the cause before we treat it.
  • More than adjustments. Back on Trac spinal decompression, focused shockwave, Class IV and cold laser, red light therapy, electrical stimulation, kinesio taping and corrective exercise.
  • Injury care. Auto accident documentation, PIP filing and certified impairment ratings.

When someone walks in here in pain, my job isn't to sell them a package. My job is to figure out what's going on and get them moving again. That's it.
